It’s hard to believe that we’ve already rolled through another month, and that summer is now beckoning on the Seattle doorstep.

The month of May was a fun one here at GeekWire — starting with our special coverage of Columbus Startup Week in my home state of Ohio and quickly followed by an epic GeekWire Awards event at EMP with nearly 1,000 attendees.

We launched a new sports tech channel on GeekWire, led by the indestructible 3-point shootin’ Taylor Soper. (Make sure to subscribe to that new newsletter here).

Reporter James Risley, a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, also joined team GeekWire. James is writing for our new GeekWire Picks product review section, and covering a wide range of general assignment stories.

With summer headed our way, that means one of our favorite events is coming up. GeekWire Sounders Day — a pre-game tailgate party on the amazing rooftop deck of EMC Isilon — will take place on Saturday, July 18th before the Sounders-Rapids match.  You won’t want to miss this fun party, so grab your tickets now.

In the meantime, enjoy the last few days of clouds and these top posts on GeekWire for the month of May.
