Whoa, what a month!

October started with a bang, with our big GeekWire Summit on Oct. 2, featuring the always-entertaining CEO of T-Mobile John Legere; U.S. Chief Information Officer Steven VanRoekel; and low-profile Zulily co-founder Mark Vadon.

But it was a 14-year-old entrepreneur from Spokane by the name of Brooke Martin who stole the show with her amazing pitch for the iCPooch.

Fun stuff at the Summit, and thanks to everyone who attended. If you missed the action, don’t worry.

galaWe’ll be convening the Seattle tech community on Dec. 3rd for the big GeekWire Gala — a fun holiday party at the Museum of History & Industry where we’ll unveil “The Seattle 10;” toast the Newsmakers of the Year and celebrate the holidays in true geek spirit.

We’ve got some fun surprises in store, so grab your tickets here before we sell out. If you can’t make the Gala or just want to have some fun, don’t forget to come out for our GeekWire game night and meetup on Nov. 11 at the Spitfire bar in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood.

Of course, October was also a month of heavy-duty tech news. Nearly every day a big story was breaking.

Amazon.com admitted that they botched the launch of the Fire Phone; Microsoft unveiled a new $199 fitness band; Tim Cook said he was proud to be gay.

And we had a little fun checking out Apple Pay.

Here’s a look back at the top stories of the month, just in case you missed any of the coverage.
