Wow, February was quite a memorable month.

Of course, we went nuts when the Seahawks won the Super Bowl, and then celebrated in style with the rest of the city as nearly everyone poured into downtown for the victory parade.

The Hawks big win — not to mention the continued rise of Seattle artists Macklemore & Ryan Lewis  — set a new tone for a city that’s hitting its stride. And Seattle’s burgeoning tech community — fueled in part by a new breed of tech companies such as Tableau, Zulily and Zillow — is part of that renaissance.

Of course, the biggest news of the month was the appointment of Satya Nadella as CEO of Microsoft — the third CEO in the company’s history. The search took a little bit longer than we imagined, especially to find someone whose worked at the company for 22 years. Nadella’s appointment was warmly welcomed by a number of Microsoft watchers, though the articulate and low-key exec certainly has his hands full in the new job.

“While we have seen great success, we are hungry to do more,” Nadella wrote at the time of his appointment. “Our industry does not respect tradition — it only respects innovation.”

Without further ado, here’s a look back at the top stories for February. Thanks to everyone for tuning in, and don’t forget to come celebrate GeekWire’s third anniversary at Showbox Sodo on March 20!!
