LAS VEGAS — Last night, Faraday Future unveiled their FF 91 electric car at CES. They boasted of a 0-60mph acceleration of 2.39s, the fastest of any production car and held an indoor drag race to demonstrate it, sort of.

The drag race pitted the FF 91 against a Bentley Bentayga, a Ferrari 488 GTB, a Tesla Model X and a Tesla Model S.

Last night’s drag race demo wasn’t timed, and no one has verified the company’s claims of acceleration, so watch this with a dose of skepticism.

What was most interesting was the spectacle itself. Thousands of onlookers, both from the media and many Faraday Future employees, packed in an indoor building long enough to accelerate to 60mph. The two internal combustion cars filled the hall with exhaust fumes and all of them kicked up dust from the concrete floor. Just when you thought you’d seen everything at CES…
