The event on Thursday evening Aug. 23 in Seattle will feature a special podcast recording with guests Sarah Studer of Impact Hub Seattle, left, and Amy Nelson of The Riveter.

It’s summer in Seattle, and we’re excited to bring everyone together next week, on Thursday, Aug. 23, for a special event: a recording of our GeekWire podcast and radio show, followed by a “Thirsty Thursday” meetup on a beautiful rooftop terrace in one of the city’s most active neighborhoods.

This event, presented by Columbia Bank, will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Ballard NeighborHub and rooftop terrace, 5601 22nd Ave. NW, right across from the Ballard branch of the Seattle Public Library. You can get your tickets here.

Arrive at 6 p.m. for the podcast and radio show. GeekWire co-founder John Cook and I will lead a lively conversation with Sarah Studer, managing director of Seattle’s Impact Hub co-working and community space; and Amy Nelson, CEO of The Riveter female-focused co-working space. We’ll be discussing the workplace of the future, and new ways to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in the community.

Even if you can’t make the podcast, join us afterward for the party. Following the show, we’ll head to the rooftop terrace and lounge for drinks, appetizers and networking. This is your chance to unwind after work, connect with the geeks behind the bylines, and make new friends with other professionals powering Seattle’s tech scene.

A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to the Ballard Boys & Girls Club. This meetup is expected to sell out, so be sure to get your tickets soon.

See you Thursday evening Aug. 23 in Ballard!
