Apple was once a force in education technology. Today, it falls a distant third in U.S. schools, behind Google’s popular Chrome OS devices and Microsoft’s Windows devices. But Apple is trying to turn all that around.

This week, the company announced a new $299 iPad aimed at schools along with a bevy of other education products. What should we make of this new effort by Apple? And will it be enough for it to reclaim lost ground in ed tech?
