Sprout Social has acquired Simply Measured, a Seattle startup that helps brands get deeper insights into their social media marketing campaigns. Sprout CEO Justyn Howard announced the acquisition in a blog post Tuesday. Terms of the deal are not being disclosed.

Simply Measured will continue operating in Seattle as Sprout Social’s second West Coast hub. Sprout is headquartered in Chicago and has a San Francisco satellite office. The company’s main product is a dashboard that brands can use to schedule and manage social media posts on sites like Facebook and Twitter.

Several members of the Simply Measured staff departed as part of the deal, including CEO Michael Wasyluka. Update: There were 100 people working at Simply Measured before the acquisition, and 75 will remain at the office under Sprout’s ownership.

Simply Measured was founded in 2010 by entrepreneurs Damon Cortesi and Aviel Ginzburg, who at the time did not have a name for their startup venture so they dubbed the project Untitled Startup. They eventually landed in the social media analytics arena.

The company raised $20 million in 2014, after being named GeekWire’s 2013 Startup of the Year. Backers included Bessemer Venture Partners, Four Rivers Group, Trinity Ventures, Founder’s Co-op and others. It ranked 31st on the GeekWire 200 of privately-held companies in the Pacific Northwest. The Simply Measured platform helps big brands like Pepsi, American Express, and Samsung track social media traffic and identify influencers.

“Bringing Simply Measured into Sprout’s portfolio is a pivotal moment for us and our valued customers,” Howard said in a statement shared with GeekWire. “We’ve long admired Simply Measured and their approach to technology and innovation, so are happy to welcome their passionate, talented team members and unique tools to Sprout.”

Sprout Social will “bring the products closer together” as part of the acquisition, though Simply Measured customers will continue to have the same access to the platform.

“Reporting, listening and analytics have always been pillars of the Sprout platform and the addition of Simply Measured expands and deepens those solutions for our customers,” Howard said in a statement. “The current market is filled with poorly integrated solutions that are overpriced and difficult to use but we’re going to take a different approach.”

Like Simply Measured, Sprout Social also was founded in 2010. Its raised more than $60 million since its founding, according to Crunchbase.
