John Stanton helped shape the wireless industry as we know it, first as vice chairman at McCaw Cellular and then co-founder of Western Wireless. He later went on to create VoiceStream Wireless, the predecessor of the modern day T-Mobile.
Given that impressive lineage, we’re thrilled to announce that Stanton — who also sits on the boards of Microsoft, Costco and Columbia Sportswear — will join us on Feb. 12th at GeekWire Startup Day.
Stanton will participate in a fireside chat with GeekWire chairman and PicMonkey CEO Jonathan Sposato, offering tips, lessons and a few war stories for navigating the perilous and oftentimes rocky entrepreneurial path.
It will most certainly be an insightful discussion about building businesses, and what it takes to succeed in a fast-moving and ever-changing climate.
Tickets are on sale now for Startup Day, so make sure to go here to register.
Stanton will be joined at Startup Day by previously-announced speakers such as Andreessen Horowitz Partner Steven Sinofsky, Limeade CEO Henry Albrecht, OfferUp CEO Nick Huzar, LiquidPlanner CEO Liz Pearce, BuddyTV CEO and angel investor Andy Liu, and many more.
More details about Startup Day are available here.
