Tanner, age 5, stole the show on the Kids Tech Panel at the 2015 GeekWire Summit.

Legos. Pokemon. Minecraft. Robots. Science. Space travel.

If you’ve got a geeky kid who can’t get one (or all) of those things out of his or her mind, we’ve got something super fun in store.

We’re looking for 20 geeky kids between the ages of 5 and 9-years-old to star in a special video project we’ve got cooking at GeekWire, tied into our big GeekWire Summit on Oct. 4-5.

geekykids-Screen Shot 2016-08-17 at 9.53.03 AMNo TV or acting experience required, in fact the most adorable kids are those who can talk off-the-cuff about their passion for technology and can answer a few goofy questions on camera about tech and pop culture trends.

We’ll air portions of the clips at the GeekWire Summit, and also feature them on GeekWire. Some of our past kids — remember the adorable Yeung sisters — have gone on to become geeky stars in their own right. We also may invite a few of the kids to appear on stage with us at the GeekWire Summit in October.

If interested, please contact me today at john@geekwire.com, and provide your child’s age, name, school and favorite geeky toy, show or game, along with a brief description on why your kid would qualify.

GeekWire Summit - October 4-5, 2016From the pool of responses, we’ll select kids to stop by our offices in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood next Wednesday, August 24th for a 10-minute filming session, between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. (Note: Parents, please allow for an hour, and let us know a suggested time that works best for you, so we can schedule everyone).

The geeky kids casting call is one of the most popular activities we host at GeekWire, and we’ve been overwhelmed by the response each year. Slots usually fill up in the first couples days, so make sure to secure your spot now. We love that Seattle has so many geeky kids, but we only have a few spots available.

Again, if your child would be interested in this fun opportunity, email me at john@geekwire.com.

What’s in store for the kids? You can get a sense of the fun from past video shoots below, and as you can imagine these hilarious insights tend to still the show each year!

Also, don’t forget. Early-bird tickets for the 2016 GeekWire Summit are on sale through Aug. 31. Get yours today here, before prices go up.
