Do you know where all your digital photos are? Can you sync and share your entire collection across your mobile devices? What would happen to all those digital memories if you had a fire or burglary at your home?

This week on the GeekWire radio show, we dive into the world of digital photos with photographer David Vaskevitch, the former Microsoft CTO, whose startup Mylio is aiming to solve some of the fundamental challenges of storing, sharing and backing up large collections of photos. Vaskevitch talks about his inspiration for starting the company, and the differences between the startup world and his previous experiences at Microsoft, among many other topics.

Also joining in the conversation is avid photographer Kevin Lisota, CEO of real estate company Findwell, who has been using Mylio and reviewed the service for GeekWire. In this extended podcast version of the show, Vaskevitch talks about his own photography, his travels and the equipment he uses on his trips.

The conversation with Vaskevitch begins in the second segment of the show, following our weekly news roundup. Topics this week include Microsoft’s Windows Phone cutbacks, Avvo’s legal victory on behalf of anonymous commenters, and Redfin’s new move to shake up world of home tours.

App of the Week: KeyMe for iOS and Android.
