Hundreds of geeks gather at the GeekWire Anniversary Bash & Ping Pong tourney

GeekWire is turning 4 years old next month, and we’re celebrating in the best way we know how: With a massive ping pong and foosball tournament.

Our annual GeekWire Anniversary Bash is back, taking place March 26th at the Showbox Sodo in Seattle. This is one of our favorite events of the year — letting developers, engineers, entrepreneurs, investors and many others from the tech community compete in the geeky sports of ping pong and foosball.

There’s also beer pong, a conversation lounge, a ping pong ball scavenger hunt and many other activities for those who want to hang out in a more casual (and less competitive) setting.

We’ll have some awesome prizes, and a few surprises tossed in for good measure.

Early-bird tickets are now on sale for this one-of-a-kind event, which will sell out. Go here to buy tickets for the party, or sign up for the intermediate, expert or foosball tournaments. (Limited spots available).

In a new twist this year, I’ll be heading out in a preview tour leading up to the bash with past GeekWire ping pong champion Avi Cavale of Shippable to challenge the best players at some of Seattle’s ping-pong-playing tech companies. Let me know if you’re interested in challenging us in a game of doubles.

Bring it on, Seattle!

Thanks to our great sponsors for helping to make the GeekWire Anniversary Bash & Ping Pong tournament possible. They are: Moz, Shippable, EY, OfferUp, eBay, UPS Connect, First Tech Federal Credit Union, Merriman, Nytec, RealSelf, Protingent, and Alltech.

Editor’s note: If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor of this Seattle tech tradition, please contact GeekWire Chief Business Officer Daniel Rossi at daniel@geekwire.com or 206-423-9196.
