iPhone6-3Up-AppleMusic-Features-PR-PRINTCheck your internet connection and get your tapping fingers ready: Apple Music is coming through a software update at 8 a.m. tomorrow, according to a blog post by Apple Music Senior Director Ian Rogers.

While Rogers has removed mention of the timing from his original blog post and the corresponding Facebook event, he tweeted earlier this week that the Beats 1 live streaming radio station will go live at 9 a.m. following the 8 a.m. rollout of iOS 8.4. In the past, iOS rollouts have been gradual, so you may not be able to update right away.

Apple Music is the company’s move into music subscriptions, competing against Spotify, Pandora, Rhapsody and many others. It will cost $9.99/month, but Apple is offering a three-month free trial. It’s available initially for Apple devices, with a rollout expected for Android and Windows later this fall.

Apple has worked to reduce the required size for over-the-air downloads of iOS updates. But if your phone is crowded with photos, apps and music already, you may want to update through iTunes. That way, you computer can handle the extra storage needed.

To update iOS from your phone, go to Settings > General > Software Update. (Be sure to back up your phone first!) To update from iTunes, plug your phone into your computer, select your device in iTunes and click Check for Update on the summary page.
