Mel Woodard of Portals

We had a blast Tuesday night at the GeekWire Meetup, listening to the pitches of four inspirational entrepreneurs and belting out some classic karaoke tunes (yes, we do have video of Jonathan Sposato’s incredible rendition of Copa Cabana).

GeekWire contributor Jeff Dickey, the producer of the Nextcast video series, also was in the crowd with camera in hand. He spent a portion of the evening asking entrepreneurs to share advice on taking the startup plunge. From Phil Gordon at Jawfish Games to Andru Edwards at Gear Live Media to Mel Woodard at Portals the tips were flowing.

We especially liked the advice of iWitness founder Greg Heuss who told entrepreneurs  to “surround yourself with people who are smarter than you.” Good stuff.
