Here’s the bad news for Microsoft from Millennial Media’s MobileMix report: Windows Phone commands just one percent of the smartphone market. And here’s the good news: The software giant’s mobile operating system experienced a 92 percent increase in ad impressions last month.

Millennial Media is a mobile ad network, so its insights on where advertising is flowing are interesting. That said, the base on which Microsoft is operating is relatively small.

The report found that Apple’s iPhone remained the top smartphone with 16 percent share, followed by the BlackBerry Curve (six percent); Motorola Droid (two percent); and HTC Evo (two percent).
