We’ve got MLS Cup fever here at GeekWire — as you may have noticed with a Rave Green color change to your favorite technology news site.
For the third time in four years, the Seattle Sounders FC — GeekWire’s hometown club — is headed to North America’s soccer championship against Toronto FC on Sunday, Nov. 10.
The match sold out in minutes last Friday, with 69,000 screaming soccer fans expected at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field. It’s going to be incredible as Nico, Raul, Stefan and crew take the pitch, and hopefully hoist the cup. Now, we want you to join the fun!
Thanks to our partners at Slalom Consulting, we’ve got an incredible offer: two field-level passes to MLS Cup in the Slalom Experience. These seats are so close, you can nearly feel the sweat flying off Jordan Morris as he flies down the touchline. The prize package also comes with all-inclusive food and beverage, as well as a parking pass to Sunday’s match.
So, how can you win these coveted seats? Easy, just impress none other than Mr. Sounder himself — the legendary bone-tackling defender Zach Scott — and the GeekWire team by sharing with us why you are the #GeekiestSoundersFan.
Between now and 10 a.m. PT on Thursday, Nov. 7, submit your best dance, song, photo, rap, Haiku or other creative endeavor to Twitter or Instagram showing or explaining why you are the #GeekiestSoundersFan. Make sure to tag and follow @SlalomSeattle and @GeekWire, so we can connect if you win. The #GeekiestSoundersFan contest is open to U.S. residents who are 18 years or older at the time of entry. For complete rules, go here.
From the pool of submissions, Zach Scott — who now works at Slalom Consulting in Seattle — will consult with the GeekWire team to choose the geekiest fan, and soon they will be flying their Sounders’ scarves proudly above their heads from the touchline at MLS Cup.
We’ll publicly announce the winner of the two Slalom Experience MLS Cup tickets live on stage at GeekWire’s Playbook speaker series, taking place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Seattle Sounders event facility in Pioneer Square, The Ninety. A few tickets remain for The Playbook, so join us to hear lessons on building impactful teams from the inspiring Storm CEO, Alisha Valavanis.
Think you got what it takes to impress Mr. Sounder? Remember, post to Twitter or Instagram under the hashtag #GeekiestSoundersFan, and make sure to follow GeekWire and Slalom Consulting.
