Redfin is gearing up to go public on Friday, but the Seattle tech-powered residential real estate brokerage already has one big fan in its court.

Diana Taurasi, the all-time leading scorer in WNBA history and three-time WNBA champion, likes to chill out with Redfin’s popular mobile app when she’s not draining three-pointers for the Phoenix Mercury.

Taurasi says she can’t afford most of the houses she browses on Redfin, “but I really like to look.” And Taurasi, who was in Seattle for the WNBA All Star game this past weekend, was surprised to learn that Redfin is based in Seattle and on the verge of going public.

No word on whether she plans to invest.

Watch as GeekWire reporter Taylor Soper asks the 8-time WNBA All Star for her opinions about her favorite app. Taurasi also has a funny quip about Seattle Storm guard and longtime friend Sue Bird, who is seated next to her in the locker room and had some news of her own last week.

Redfin is set to start trading on the Nasdaq stock exchange on Friday, with a goal of raising $148 million. As we pointed out last week, it will be interesting to watch whether Redfin — the first Seattle area company to venture into the public markets this year — will be valued as a tech company or a real estate brokerage.
