CES was a wonderland of gadgetry and shiny new tech. And while some devices were gimmicky flops, other will doubtlessly find their way into the annals of tech history. On this week’s episode of GearedUp, hosts Todd Bishop and Andru Edwards talk about their 10 favorite devices — and deliver a few gripes — from North America’s biggest tech conference.

Their picks include gadgets straight out of the Jetsons: the Starship delivery robot, Razer’s Project Valerie laptop with “wings,” and glasses-free AR, to name a few. But there’s always room for the simpler things in life, like the Freewrite e-ink typewriter, designed to help writers stay focused.

And, as always, there are plentiful updates to the tech we use every day, like the new Samsung Chromebook Pro and Plus, Faraday Future’s electric “supercar,” Panasonic’s Lumix GH5, and the kid-focused Aristotle speaker, complete with Alexa capabilities of course. Another of their picks is the new, super-thin LG W Series OLED television.

But it was Amazon’s Alexa voice-enabled assistant that stole the show this year.
