Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is set to unveil a new all-electric vehicle at the big Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week.

The Italian-American carmaker will show off a fully electric vehicle based on the Chrysler Pacifica minivan, Bloomberg reported last month, while the company is also building an electric Maserati sports car to compete with Tesla.

For the first time in seven years, FCA is not debuting a new vehicle at the Detroit auto show, and instead will do so at CES.

Automotive has become a big focus at the CES in recent years and FCA is one of several auto companies that are now using the event to reveal their latest technological innovations, from electric vehicles to in-car connected technology.

FCA will hold a press conference Tuesday at 1 p.m. at CES — GeekWire will be reporting on the announcement from Las Vegas tomorrow, so stay tuned for more.

FCA inked a deal with Google in May to co-develop self-driving minivans. The company also announced a separate deal with Google today for in-car systems technology based on Android.

In November, FCA partnered with Amazon to sell cars online in Italy.
