When he’s not firing up the crowd with massive trampoline dunksdancing wildly to Fergie or inviting Kanye West to lunch, Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer is building one of the most tech-focused organizations in the NBA.

Now, we’re going to get a chance to ask the former Microsoft CEO about his own hoop dreams, his vision for the future of sports and technology, and his experience as the owner of the Clippers in the two years following his $2 billion purchase of the team in 2014.

Ballmer has just been added as the main keynoter of the GeekWire Sports Tech Summit, taking place July 12-13 in Seattle. If you’ve not seen Ballmer speak about two of his favorite topics — tech and sports — you’re in for a rare (and high-energy) treat.

A limited number of tickets are available now, but they are going fast so make sure to get yours here today.

Other speakers on the agenda for the conference include Major League Soccer commissioner Don Garber; Seattle Seahawk Doug Baldwin; Olympian Ariana Kukors and Brooks Running CEO Jim Weber.

Ballmer is certainly more than a slam-dunking showman. He’s an analytical numbers guy who during his tenure at Microsoft built a revenue-driving powerhouse, and now he’s applying some of the lessons from the tech industry to his new life in sports.

A big thanks to Comcast, the presenting sponsor of this year’s Sports Tech Summit. For more information on sponsoring this year’s event, please contact GeekWire chief business officer Daniel Rossi at daniel@geekwire.com.
