Get ready for some ping pong.
Get ready for some ping pong at the GeekWire 5th Anniversary Bash.

March Madness has an entirely new meaning at GeekWire. In fact, it’s more like Geek Madness — with its own set of brackets.

It’s that time of year when we host the annual GeekWire Anniversary Bash, highlighted by some of the best ping pong, foosball and dodgeball action you’ll see this side of the Mississippi.

After careful deliberation by the GeekWire Selection Committee, the brackets are now set for six big tournaments on March 24: intermediate foosball, expert foosball, beginner ping pong; intermediate ping pong, expert ping pong and team dodgeball. (Check out the brackets below to see the exciting matchups).

Doors open for the “big dance” at 3 p.m. And games in each of the single-elimination tournaments will begin promptly at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 24th at the CenturyLink Field Event Center in Seattle. Reminder, all registered tournament participants must be checked in by 4 p.m. in order to compete.

The official ping pong, dodgeball and foosball tournaments are sold out, but we still have a limited number of tickets remaining for the Anniversary Bash, which will feature a fun lineup of activities for those not interested in showing off their wicked serves or backhand slices. We also will have the OfferUp casual play area where anyone can pick up a paddle and challenge folks to a ping pong match.

GeekWire Ping Pong & Anniversary Bash 2015 (85)Back by popular demand, we’ll be turning guests loose for the super fun Nuance Ping Pong Ball scavenger hunt and we’ll once again award the “spirit prize” to the group that best flies its geek flag during the party. Moz will host the photo booth, while Qumulo will host the FIFA 16 video game zone and Atlas will be presenting a classic video game arcade.

If you are not into ping pong, dodgeball or foosball, just have a drink with us to celebrate everything happening in the Seattle tech ecosystem.

We’ve got more than 400 people competing in the tournaments alone, and another 800 expected to attend the party, so make sure to arrive early for our biggest bash ever. We’ve also got some great prizes in store for the winners of the ping pong tournaments, Amazon Echo devices courtesy of sponsor Fuel Talent. The winning foosball teams will walk away with $250 travel vouchers, thanks to foosball sponsor Booking.com.

A big thanks to presenting sponsor Point Inside — which will host the action on the championship ping pong tables — for helping to make this event possible.

Also, thanks to gold sponsors: Hired, Flowroute, EY, Moz, AOL, Atlas, First Tech Federal Credit UnionAkvelon, CenturyLink, eBay, DoubleDown, BestBuy, Avvo, RealSelf, OfferUpBooking.com, Nuance, Impinj, Qumulo, Lyft and PrimeNow.

Without further ado, here are the brackets for each tournament. If you are a tournament participant and are unable to participate, please contact us immediately by reaching out to Cara Kuhlman at cara@geekwire.com.
