Without wearing his San Francisco 49ers jersey or one of his giant Super Bowl rings, former NFL star Jerry Rice was able to take the wheel as a Lyft driver and fool unsuspecting passengers in a new video from the car service.
Wearing a hat and sunglasses and ditching his giant ring before taking off, the Hall of Fame football player was chatty with an assortment of passengers as he drove around the Bay Area. He made small talk about the weather, music, acting and even football.
A couple self-proclaimed 49ers fans apparently failed to recognize the wide receiver who helped bring three championships to the city. One guy who sat in the front passenger seat, and said he was born and raised in nearby San Jose, said he was a “big Niner guy” and asked Rice who he rooted for.
“Ya know, I’m not really into sports, man,” Rice replied.
What’s up, Bay Area! I went undercover as a @Lyft driver & surprised a few of you along the way. Check it out here: https://t.co/UwNL3ZaYzS
