What will inspire you to change the world? That’s the underlying question in this special animated video, which tells the inspiring story of one startup founder’s journey, and envisions the future of the Seattle in the process.

This is the latest in a series of videos created by Killer Infographics, in partnership with GeekWire, for the GeekWire Awards, our annual celebration of technology and innovation in the Pacific Northwest. We premiered this new video at the GeekWire Awards ceremony at the EMP Museum in Seattle on Thursday night.

Killer Infographics offers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the video in this post, complete with storyboards detailing the process from concept to final design. Here’s how they describe the premise of the story.

The storyline for this year’s video follows the main character Alison who, after the loss her grandmother to cancer, is inspired to pursue a life dedicated to finding a cure. The viewer is then guided through a series of snapshots throughout Alison’s journey that not only highlight her educational and business achievements but also provide a glimpse into the future of tech and science innovation. A closer look will reveal everything from flying cars to advancements in artificial intelligence and more. With this video, we strived to present a world where tech creates a brighter future for Seattle and beyond.
