Online travel giant Expedia has expanded its board of directors to 14 people, adding Hollywood film and Broadway producer Scott Rudin to the lineup.

Rudin started in the entertainment business in the 1970s, later going on to produce a number of well known films such as Captain Phillips; There Will Be Blood; No Country for Old Men; Steve Jobs and The Budapest Hotel.

He’s also well known on Broadway, producing hit musicals such as The Book of Morman; Shuffle Along and Blackbird.

He’s one of the few in the entertainment industry who has won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony — known in the business as an EGOT.

Expedia’s board is led by Chairman Barry Diller, also a well known media and entertainment executive who previously worked at Paramount Pictures and Fox.

NPR’s Terry Gross recently conducted an in-depth interview with Rudin, where he shared details of his early career in the entertainment business and the stresses of producing Broadway shows.

We’ve asked Expedia for comment about the Rudin’s directorship, and we will update this post as we learn more.
