I don’t know about you, but I love me some Werner Herzog. That unmistakable German voice narrating some of the most beautiful and heartbreaking moments in our collective history is downright fascinating.

So imagine this incredible idea: YouTuber Patrick (H) Willems has created a video of Marvel’s Ant-Man done Werner Herzog style.

“Marvel’s ANT-MAN movie turned out pretty great, but I think we can all agree that it would have been even better if they let Werner Herzog make it,” Willems writes on YouTube.

Willems nails Herzog’s style here, from his methodical narration to actual lines he would say, including a hilarious scene with despondent-looking Ant-Man climbing into a nutshell and floating down a river.

The only thing that would’ve made this better? Getting Paul Rudd to actually walk the walk of the sad, Herzog-esque Ant-Man. Something tells me he’d be up for it, too.

Willems adds at the end of the video that you can see how the awesome Ant-Man helmet, created by his friend and prop-maker Paul Steadman, was made here (Halloween is coming). He also adds that he has more “alternate universe comic book movies planned” and is seeking your help in suggesting which ones to tackle next via social media.

Go ahead, treat yourself to Herzog’s Ant-Man world of “chaos and fornication.” You’ll be glad you did.
