We love Louis C.K., and in the spirit of all-things football and current events, The Late Show‘s David Letterman asked the Boston native and New England Patriots fan what he thought of deflategate.

C.K. remained true-to-form, sticking to his “what does it matter” line of thinking, when Letterman posed the question: Why are the Patriots so “oily?”

“They want to win real bad,” C.K. says. “Sometimes you do stuff that’s not fair, so that you can win. I have no problem with it. I think it’s hilarious. And why not? It’s a stupid football game. Deflate the ball, poke a guy in the eye, whatever. It’s football.”

Of course, Letterman is from Indianapolis, so he was still smarting a bit from that Colts’ loss.

In case you were wondering, here’s the science behind deflating a football.

No matter how you slice it, can we just collectively agree that we dislike “pretty boy” Tom Brady and his team and will root for their utter defeat at this Sunday’s Super Bowl?

And I’m not even a football fan.
