Editor’s note: Once again, we have been absolutely inundated with responses for the geeky kids casting call, and all slots are now full. Thanks for your interest!

Got a geeky kid?

A book nut or science whiz who is fascinated with robots, drones, space travel, Legos or Star Wars?

geekwiresummit-logoWe’re looking for 25 kids between the ages of 5 and 10-years-old to star in a special video project we’ve got cooking at GeekWire, tied into our big GeekWire Summit on Oct. 1-2.

No TV experience required. Just looking for funny and curious kids who can answer a few goofy questions on camera about general technology and pop culture trends.

We’ll air portions of the clips at the Summit, and also feature them on GeekWire. We also have a new idea this year where four of the kids from the video series will be invited to anchor a “kids tech panel” at this year’s Summit, taking place in the afternoon of Oct. 2.

Screen Shot 2015-08-28 at 7.44.32 AMIf interested, please contact me today at john@geekwire.com, and provide your child’s age, name and favorite geeky toy, show or game.

EDITOR’S NOTE:  We have filled all of the slots for the casting call. There are a lot of geeky kids in Seattle!

From the pool of responses, we’ll select kids to stop by our offices in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood next Wednesday, Sept. 2 for a 10-minute filming session, between 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Note: Parents, please allow for 30 minutes to 45 minutes, and let us know a suggested time that works best for you, so we can schedule everyone).

We were overwhelmed by last year’s casting call, and we actually had to turn away several kids due to the huge response, so make sure to secure your spot today. We love that Seattle has so many geeky kids, but we only have a few spots available.

Again, if your child would be interested in this fun opportunity, email me at john@geekwire.com.

What’s in store for the kids? You can get a sense of the fun from last year’s shoot here.
