Trending: Microsoft AI chief Harry Shum to depart in February after 23 years at the tech giant

fifa15First, Richard Sherman. Now, Clint Dempsey.

There’s just something about Seattle’s sports stars appearing on the newest video game covers. EA Sports announced today that Sounders FC and U.S. men’s national team star forward Clint Dempsey will join Lionel Messi on the cover of FIFA 15.

The Sounders are playing an international friendly this afternoon against Tottenham FC in Seattle, and as part of today’s announcement, EA Sports created this huge mugshot of Dempsey with the tagline “Dempsey is in the game.”

While Messi will appear on every FIFA 15 cover globally, EA Sports is picking one other player to join him, depending on the region where the game is sold.

Dempsey is just the third American to make it on the cover of FIFA, with Freddy Adu most recently appearing on FIFA 06.

Last month, Sherman — the trash-talking, All-Pro Seahawks cornerback — beat out 15 other players and was voted by fans to appear on the cover of EA Sports’ Madden 15.

FIFA 15 debuts on Sept. 23 in North America.
