Get ready for some new iPads. Apple sent out an invitation to a select handful of journalists today inviting them to a press event on October 16. The invitation bears the tag line “It’s been way too long,” along with an outline of the Apple logo with the company’s old rainbow color scheme. (Kremlinologists, start your blog posts!)

Unlike the iPhone and Apple Watch unveiling that took place at the Flint Center in Cupertino last month, Apple will hold this month’s event at the much smaller Town Hall theater on its campus, which is where the company unveiled the iPhone 5S last year.

Right now, the rumor mill and past patterns point towards Apple announcing new iPads, as well as updates to some parts of its Mac lineup. In addition, the company will most likely release OS X Yosemite, the next version of its desktop operating system, which was unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
