For the fourth time in a row, Verizon was recognized by J.D. Power and Associates for the best customer care among national, full-service carriers.

The rankings take into account on how well companies provide customer service via telephone, walk-in and online support. Verizon ranked first with a overall score of 766 (based on a 1,000-point scale). AT&T ranked second with 759, Sprint next with 746 and T-Mobile at 715.

The study was based on responses from 7,322 customers who contacted customer care during July through December 2012. MetroPCS had the highest ranking for non-contract carriers.

Verizon touted its social media team as a way the company reaches out to customers and creates a more personal relationship with them via Twitter, Facebook. etc.

Last November, Verizon was ranked the most favorable cell phone carrier in the nation based on an annual Consumer Reports survey of 63,253 subscribers around the country.

Verizon also announced earlier this week that it invested more than $134 million last year in the state of Washington to improve wireless service and coverage.
