October is the month for watching scary movies, touring haunted houses and attending some electrifying events at Seattle’s Startup Week! It’ll be scary… how much you’ll learn! Mmmwhahahahaha! No seriously, check out all the awesome upcoming events and happenings during Seattle’s Startup Week (Oct. 18-25).

ghostbusters_movie_image_01Ghostbusters and Evil Dead @ Central Cinema: We love Central Cinema! They curate some great films every month and for October, they’ve got some very scary classics lined up. Be sure to catch these two back to back (they’re also playing Pet Sematary and The Shinning together later in the month, yikes!).

When: Friday, October 4th – Wednesday, October 9th. 7pm & 9:30pm.

BrickCon 2011 Exhibition

BrickCon 2013Did you say, LEGO convention?! That’s right! This is a convention featuring everything LEGOs. Definitely a fun one for the kids as visitors can see hobbyists creations, build their own creations and buy some cool LEGO stuff.

When: Saturday, October 5th – Sunday, October 6th. All day.

The Enematic Cinematic: Hack-O-Lantern: Enjoy gory, raunchy, satanic 80’s films? How about people making fun of said movie while drinking beers? If you’re the kind of weirdo who answered “yes” then you’ll want to come to TEC’s showing of Hack-O-Lantern and stay for the live podcast recording. Creeps abound!

When: Tuesday, October 8th. 8pm.

Scarecrow Video Saturday Screenings: All October long, Scarecrow Video will be screening some fantastically freaky feature films in their screening room. Here’s a video showcasing the upcoming films.

When: Every Saturday, 8pm

31 Days of October @ EMPYou will DEFINITELY want to check out the full line up of spooktacular events at the EMP this month. From Monster Mash Mondays to Thriller Sundays! There will be special movie screenings, dance parties in the Sky Church, and scavenger hunts. Plus, they’ll have their Horror Film Exhibit: Can’t Look Away. Tons of holiday thrills!
