seattlestartupweek5POSTERThere’s so much percolating in Seattle’s startup ecosystem. We see it everyday in the companies we cover, checking out innovative ideas; meeting inspiring entrepreneurs and discovering revolutionary products that change how we work, play, travel and communicate.

StartupWeek_horiz_tealOf course, one of the best ways to tap into the startup ecosystem is to actually get out and meet some folks. That’s why we’re so excited to present Seattle Startup Week, a full slate of meetups, activities and events taking place at various venues throughout the city from Oct. 18 to Oct. 30.

What’s in store? Well, just about everything — from full-fledged startup conferences like NWEN’s Entrepreneur University and GeekWire’s Startup Day to more casual get togethers like the Startup Crawl and Seattle Tech Meetup.

seattlestartupmicrosoftieGeekWire is proud to present Startup Week, working in conjunction with funding partners TechStars and the TechStars After Party to create a hub of activities that unite the community that inform, inspire and educate those around the importance of startups. A special thanks to Gina Phillips who has been busily putting the pieces in place for the week, including the amazing infographic above created by the team at Killer Infographics.

Speaking of the infographic, you’ll want to pay especially close attention to those characters.

Over the course of the next month, we’ll be placing the individual cards at various coffee shops, bars, restaurants and tech events around the city.

Collect all five of the “Seattle founder” playing cards — from “The Hype Guy” to “The Serial Flipper” to “The Former Microsoftie”  — and present them for free entry to GeekWire’s “Battle of the Geek Bands” on Friday, Oct. 25th.

OK, folks, are you ready to geek out?

Check out all of these amazing events, and remember to collect each of the five “Seattle founder” playing cards as you hit various events and hang out at geeky hotspots this month.

I hope you’ll join us for the fun, learning more about the startup process and meeting some great folks along the way.
