— Simon Singh ‘The Simpsons and their Mathematical Secrets: Alright, I’m intrigued. What kind of “mathematical secrets” could the Simpsons possibly hold? Before you scoff, consider that all of the shows lead writers have advanced science degrees. Apparently the show is chalk full of interesting numerical references and Singh wants to share them with you.

— TedxRainier: Super cool. The speakers are very diverse covering all sorts of topics, from nature photography to NASCAR racing, and featuring a performance from a dance troupe! Definitely sounds inspiring.

— Party for the Health of It: Looking for something to do on Saturday night? How about dress up, show off your dance moves AND give to charity all at the same time? Party at the Seattle Aquarium!

— Big Data/Big World/Big Ideas: Global Health and Data-Enabled Life Sciences: This event certainly is about BIG. Come listen to speakers address real world health issues, offer ideas for relief and open the discussion up. This is how problems get solved.

— Chris Hadfield ‘An Astronaut’s Guide to Life on Earth’: Chris Hadfield knows what it takes to achieve your dreams, even when they’re literally out of this world! Come hear from an astronaut on how to apply the things he’s learned in life to yours. This is your chance to ask an astronaut all those questions you’ve always had about space.
