MailappiconGmail users, your Mavericks-induced suffering is over.

Apple released an update to Mail.app today that should fix compatibility issues with Gmail that users have been reporting since the company released its latest major update to OS X.

More specifically, Apple says that the release:

  • Fixes an issue that prevents deleting, moving, and archiving messages for users with custom Gmail settings
  • Addresses an issue that may cause unread counts to be inaccurate
  • Includes additional fixes that improve the compatibility and stability of Mail

To get the new update, open the App Store, and click on the Updates tab. If you enabled your computer to download updates automatically, it should be installed soon. While you’re in there, you might want to install the iBooks update, which fixes a number of bugs in the new iBooks app in Mavericks.
