GeekWire’s John Cook. Can you top this stache, Seattle?

Who’s got the best stache in Seattle? Obviously, not me. In fact, my attempt at growing a mustache to celebrate “Movember” this year was nothing short of a disaster.

First, in an early morning haze about three weeks ago, I accidentally shaved off the furry little thing in the shower. (My shaving routine always starts with the stache).

I gave the challenge a second chance, but gave up on Monday when my wife said I looked completely ridiculous and declined to go out in public with me anymore. (The only staches she’s ever liked are those worn by Tom Selleck of Magnum, P.I. and Timothy Olyphant of Deadwood).

Thankfully, there are some more capable facial hair growers in the Seattle tech community. We’ve been getting some curly and bushy submissions for our Movember challenge where we’re awarding two free tickets to the GeekWire Gala on December 6th to the dude who comes up with the wildest, weirdest and most wonderful whisker creation.

There’s still time to enter. Just email a photo of you and your stache to john@geekwire.com. From the pool of submissions, our illustrious judging panel will pick one winner who will receive the tickets to the big GeekWire Gala on December 6th.

But you’ll have to compete with some of the folks at Slalom Consulting, who are taking the competition quite seriously. “Been rubbing lots of bacon grease and pine needles on this baby to get it so full and bushy,” says Slalom’s Seth Lake, a national recruiting analyst.

Can you top that stache? If you think you got the chops (or the handlebars or walruses or Fu-Manchus) just email me a photo with your contact info. Deadline for submission is November 29th at noon Pacific.
