When we talked to Point Inside earlier this week about their new financing round, they indicated that some of the money would go to hiring talent. Well, here’s an indication of where a portion of that money is headed. The Seattle company, which is developing mobile maps for airports, shopping malls and grocery stores, just named Pete Coleman as vice president of sales.

The graduate of Notre Dame and veteran of companies such as Captura Software, IBM and Talisma most recently worked at Kaseya. Point Inside just scored $805,000 of a $2 million financing round, and is currently working with grocery store Meijer on their mobile solutions.

Digital advertising veteran Joe Doran has joined the board of Meteor Solutions, a Seattle startup that helps large brands track online content as it passes via word-of-mouth channels. Doran, who is currently the CEO of marketing firm Tout Inc. and founder of Whidbey Venture Group, previously served as CEO of Media6Degrees. Before that, he spent nine years at Microsoft, including a stint as chief of staff of MSN.

“Meteor Solutions has differentiated technology, unique strategy and a great team that will bring to life the promise of activating influencers for the Fortune 2000 brands.  I am excited to to work with Ben (Straley) and his team change the world of online marketing,” said Doran in a statement.
