Windows_10_LogoMicrosoft is slated to announce some big news for the future of Windows at its event in Redmond today. The company is holding its second major briefing on Windows 10 starting at 9 a.m. This event is a significant one for Microsoft: we’ll finally get to see some of the key consumer features coming in the next version of Windows, which are expected to include a version of the Cortana virtual assistant that runs on PCs and a new gaming experience for Windows users.

GeekWire will be running a live blog during the event, offering a textual play-by-play of what’s going on as well as color commentary about what this means for Microsoft. If you watch it all live, Microsoft has provided a live video stream here, which will allow anyone around the world to watch Satya Nadella, Joe Belfiore, Terry Myerson and Phil Spencer talk about what the company has up its sleeve.

And of course, stay tuned to GeekWire’s Windows 10 Special Coverage throughout the day for more news and updates.
