Soccer fans who own an Xbox One will have plenty of content to play around with this month as the FIFA World Cup kicks off in three weeks.
Microsoft made a few fútbol-related announcements today as part of a new “Destination Brazil” hub debuting June 12 that features a “Brazil Now” app and the debut of “Every Street United,” an original Xbox series that highlights talented street soccer players from around the world.
The “Brazil Now” Xbox One app offers up alerts, score updates, stats, live social media input, interactive polls, and more. As the screenshot shows below, you can “Snap” this app while watching a live match and have a bevy of updated supplemental information on the right side of the screen.
You’ll also be able to watch “Every Street United,” from the “Destination Brazil” hub. The show, one of several new original productions coming from the Xbox team, follows the “most gifted, undiscovered street stars,” who all hail from different countries. Soccer legends Thierry Henry and Edgar Davids travel around the world looking for eight of the best players, who will compete in a 4-on-4 street game in Rio de Janeiro.
“Destination Brazil” also provides quick access to the FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: FIFA World Cup game mode for those that own the popular soccer title. Gamers can pick players from all 32 World Cup teams and build their own rosters. In addition, Microsoft noted today that those who purchase FIFA 14 for Xbox One or Xbox 360, or 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil at a Microsoft store will receive a mini Xbox soccer ball.
This is the second World Cup-related announcement in the past two days from Microsoft, which unveiled a slick World Cup website built for Internet Explorer on Sunday.
