Point of No Return: Cislunar Tabletop Exercise

A three-hour tabletop exercise that puts mixed-discipline teams through a facilitated cislunar infrastructure crisis, worked in real time through timed injects. The format is discussion-based, with no equipment, no scoring and no clearance required. It is John Squared’s launch event with Seattle Space Week and the first run of the exercise at Space Week.
The facilitator is Nick Reese, vice president of strategic initiatives and emerging tech at John Squared, the first director of emerging technology policy at the Department of Homeland Security, author of the 2022 DHS Space Policy and lead DHS representative for Space Policy Directive-5.
Organizers tie the scenario to current policy questions, including Artemis II’s April 2026 flight, an Office of Space Commerce certification proposal covering lunar operations, and congressional debate over designating space a 17th critical-infrastructure sector.
Participants work in round tables of five, with 30 to 50 application-screened seats aimed at engineering, program, legal and regulatory, founder, business development and supply chain roles, plus seats for legal, insurance, investor and military and veteran representation. Attendees leave with a resource guide, their team’s decision log and a set of named capability gaps. Content is unclassified and open-source only, held under a non-attribution rule. Tickets are $200 and non-refundable; registration is subject to approval. The address is shared with registrants.
