Expedia Group announced two hires to its executive team. Katrina Lane, former vice president at Twitter, and Lauri Metrose, former executive vice president at CBS Studios, joined as senior vice president of global customer engagement and senior vice president of global PR and social media, respectively.

Lane previously served as a vice president at Amazon for more than five years. Metrose worked at CBS Studios in communications for more than 17 years.

These hires follow Expedia’s addition of six tech leaders earlier this year. The Seattle-based travel giant saw Q1 revenue rise 81% to $2.2 billion after a slowdown in leisure travel during the COVID-19 pandemic. Expedia rolled out a new technology platform earlier this year to provide the underlying online infrastructure for other companies to build their own travel businesses.

Other personnel changes across the Pacific Northwest tech industry:

  • Andrew Sandler, former chief medical officer at Kiadis Pharma, joined Alpine Immune Sciences as chief medical officer.
  • Ramón Solís, former senior director at General Assembly, joined Boundless Immigration as head of global customer success.
