T-Mobile has laid off an undisclosed number of employees in its network operations and engineering group, the Bellevue, Wash.-based wireless carrier has confirmed.

The company, which said in a statement that it is continuing to hire across the country, with over 3,000 posted positions, said it has been making organizational shifts for the past few months.

“These shifts are the outcome of opportunities we have identified to evolve our structure so we can best focus our resources in the places where customers need and want us to be,” a spokesperson said via emailed statement. “Our priority is to ensure employees impacted during this transition are supported. Many of them will be offered different positions.”

The website Fierce Wireless reported on the layoffs on Wednesday and pointed to another site, The Layoff, where comments are attributed to impacted workers.
