The GeekWire Awards, presented by Wave Business, return in a virtual format on May 20.

The GeekWire Awards return on May 20, but before we get there we could use a little help. Today, we’re announcing the finalists across 13 voting categories — everything from Startup of the Year to Next Tech Titan to Deal of the Year.

We’ve also added two awesome new categories: Workplace of the Year and STEM Educator of the Year, a non-voting category that celebrates three amazing educators from the Pacific Northwest.

Who’ll win the robot at the GeekWire Awards?

We received more than 150 nominations this year, and our judging panel helped us whittle the pool to five deserving candidates in each category. Now, starting today, we’re opening up the voting to the larger GeekWire community.

The winners will be announced live from the virtual stage on May 20. To tune in to the celebration — including surprise cameos — make sure to register for free here.

Already know who gets your vote? Make your picks here or in the embedded ballot below. We’ll also feature the finalists over the next few weeks on GeekWire, with editorial posts on each category.

Community votes will be factored in with votes from our judges and GeekWire members, and then on May 20 we will announce the winners in a live virtual event hosted from Seattle’s Pacific Science Center.

Now in its 13th year, the GeekWire Awards are one of the most hotly-anticipated events in the Seattle tech community, bringing together more than 1,000 geeks to celebrate innovation and the entrepreneurial spirit. Past winners have included Tableau, Smartsheet, Swype, Redfin, Convoy, Zulily, Avalara CEO Scott McFarlane, University of Washington computer scientist Ed Lazowska, DreamBox Learning CEO Jessie Woolley-Wilson, TAF and many others.

A big thanks to our longtime presenting sponsor on the GeekWire Awards: Wave Business.

Also, thanks to our gold category sponsors: Wilson Sonsini, Premera, JLL, ALLtech, EY, DreamBox Learning, Blink UX, BECU, WestRiver Group, and First Tech Federal Credit Union.

And, finally, thanks to our silver sponsors: BCRA and Kingston Marketing Group.
