Cyberpion came out of stealth mode Tuesday and announced a $8.25 million seed round to fuel growth of its cybersecurity software that helps companies protect their entire enterprise ecosystem footprint. Team8 Capital and Hyperwise Ventures led the round.

Founded in 2017, Cyberpion focuses on defending vulnerabilities stemming from direct and indirect resources that may extend beyond a company’s own assets, such as third-party online solutions built by other partners.

The company is led by co-founder and CEO Nethanel Gelernter, an experienced security researcher who is based in Israel; Ori Engelberg, a cloud expert who is also based in Israel; and Ran Nahmias, a longtime security executive and former Microsoft director who is based in the Seattle region.
