Adam Bosworth, a veteran tech executive known for his work at companies including Microsoft, Salesforce and Google, is leaving his role as an Amazon Web Services vice president but says the mysterious project he has been leading will be unveiled “relatively soon,” and has “as much potential as any I’ve ever built.”

Bosworth, who joined Amazon in 2016, said in a post on LinkedIn that he will work as an independent consultant for a small number of clients.

“It has been an extraordinary time at Amazon building a service/product that I believe has as much potential as any I’ve ever built,” he wrote. “But it is also a time in my life where a non-stop intense operational focus isn’t what I want (or am good at) and both the management team and the product itself are now good to go without me. My deepest thanks to Amazon for enabling me to lead and create this product. It is coming relatively soon and I’ll call it out proudly when it launches.”

Past reports and online clues have linked Bosworth to an initiative dubbed “AWS for Everyone,” a technology that would allow non-developers to create business applications using little or no code. The existence of the project was cited by Amazon in redacted court papers in a 2017 non-compete lawsuit against an AWS executive who left the company to join Smartsheet.

Bosworth started and ran Microsoft Access and helped to pioneer XML technologies in his decade at the Redmond company, before building and managing Google Health, founding health startup Keas, and working on the next-generation Thunder platform and IOT cloud technologies at Salesforce.

The Information notes that Bosworth previously reported directly to AWS CEO Andy Jassy but was recently shifted to report to another executive, Larry Augustin, as reported at the time by Business Insider.
