The stage is nearly set for the competitive foosball action at the GeekWire Bash. This Thursday, we’ll welcome over 100 competitors to the CenturyLink Field Event Center to find out who reigns supreme on the miniature soccer field.

Brackets are available for review below, and there’s still time to enter the intermediate and expert foosball tournaments by registering your team here.

What’s at stake? Glory, of course, along with office bragging rights and the highly sought after “Golden Foos” trophy. But that’s not all!

Tournament champions will receive a pair of concert tickets to June 19th’s Third Eye Blind show with Jimmy Eat World and Vampire Weekend at CenturyLink Field Event Center, courtesy of local radio partners 107.7 FM The End.

Want to join your fellow geeks for a day of fun without entering an official tournament? General Admission tickets are still on sale now. The Bash is open to all ages, so be sure to bring the family and enjoy free-play foosball and ping pong, an all-new Lego League Robotics tournament, amazing virtual reality, arcade games, sumo wrestling, an indoor zipline and much more. You don’t want to miss Seattle’s biggest geek festival! Check out this FAQ if you are one of the 2,000 folks already planning to attend.

Take a look at the epic first-round matchups below. A few slots remain in both brackets, so be sure to grab your partner and register today before they fill up!

Best of luck to all foosball participants. We’ll be sending out the full list of rules and logistical instructions to all foosball tournament participants before the Bash, but here’s a quick FAQ with key details for all of our competitors. Please, read carefully.

Foosball rules can be found here.

How many brackets will there be? Two. When you register, select to participate in the intermediate or expert bracket. Read more about the 2018 foosball champs here.

How will I know when to play my match? Check in with the tournament director for your tournament, and he or she will notify you of your potential match time. Brackets will be displayed prominently and updated as the tournaments progress. Make sure to check them regularly. Additionally, if you are not in the main tournament area, notifications will be sent via text to the mobile phone number provided when you registered.

How will matches be scored? For foosball, it will be a best of three-game series, single elimination tournament. We’ll play games to 5, with a time limit of 18 minutes on each match.

What happens if I lose my first match? You will be eliminated from the tournament, but your tournament registration includes full access to the party, including great activities such as beer pong, sumo wrestling, a classic video game arcade and much more. Also, as tables open up throughout the evening you’ll be able to challenge your friends and co-workers to “friendly” matches in the open play area.

What should I wear? Comfortable clothes, and maybe bring a towel to dry off. Headbands are optional!

What if I can’t make the tournament? If you can no longer participate in the tournament, please let us know immediately by emailing Colton Edwards at colton@geekwire.com.
