Who will take home the robot trophy at the 2019 GeekWire Awards? (GeekWire Photo)

The annual celebration of the Pacific Northwest technology community is less than two months away. And before the community chooses the winners in more than a dozen categories, we could use your help.

That’s right fellow geeks: It’s time once again for the GeekWire Awards, taking place May 2 at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle. Early bird tickets are on sale here.

Now in its 11th year, the GeekWire Awards represent a community-wide effort. Past winners have included Avalara, OfferUp, Convoy, PopCap Games, Tableau, Technology Access Foundation, Smartsheet, University of Washington computer science professor Ed Lazowska, venture capitalist Julie Sandler and many others.

We’ll start today by accepting nominations in more than a dozen categories — ranging from old standbys such as Startup of the Year and Next Tech Titan to more recent additions such as Geekiest Office Space and Hardware/Gadget of the Year. We have also added three new categories this year: Health Innovation of the Year; AI Innovation of the Year; and the Community Leader Award.  And we’ve split the CEO category into two categories, one for “big tech”companies with employees of more than 200 employees and one for startups with fewer than 200 employees.

See full nomination form below. Or you can go directly to the survey here in order to submit nominations.

We’ll take nominations in the categories through March 21, with anyone in the Pacific Northwest community (Oregon, Idaho, Washington and British Columbia) able to nominate worthy candidates. From that list, we’ll work with our judging panel — including venture capitalists, CEOs, entrepreneurs, lawyers, non-profit leaders and other top minds in the tech community — to winnow our list to five nominees in each category.

Then, beginning on April 4th, we’ll start community voting on GeekWire, with readers selecting the very best in each of the categories. The winners will be revealed May 2 at the GeekWire Awards party, taking place at MoPop.

But first things first, now is your time to start the nomination process. Take a look at the categories below, and nominate those who you think are worthy, choosing entrepreneurs, products and companies that truly are changing the way we live, work and play.

Note: One nomination is as good as 20, so no need to flood the ballot box.
