Twilio co-founder Jeff Lawson has a message for students facing detentions for walking out of school to protest gun violence. He’ll buy you ice cream. In a post on Twitter Wednesday night, Lawson laid out the plan.
Attention students of America.
If you get detention because you walked out and joined the March – I will send you a gallon of ice cream for every day of detention. Because kids should have ice cream, not detention.
Seriously, text me if you're in this situation 727-866-4867

The message came after the tragic school shooting in Florida, in which 17 were killed. Students are organizing walkouts and demonstrations around the country in the coming weeks, calling on lawmakers to pass stricter gun control laws.
Because Twilio provides communication tools for developers, it’s likely that the phone number Lawson posted on Twitter was generated by his company’s software. Twilio is a publicly-traded company with a $3 billion market cap.
Prior to co-founding Twilio, Lawson worked at Amazon as one of the first product managers for Amazon Web Services.
