John Legere moved on up and now he’s moving on out. The T-Mobile CEO has listed his deluxe penthouse in the sky over New York City’s Central Park West for $22 million.

Legere bought the property for $18 million back in 2015. Reports then said the home was once owned by newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst, and the amount Legere paid three years ago was down from a listed price of $27.5 million.

The luxury listing with CORE calls the penthouse in the pre-war, co-op building at 91 Central Park West a “trophy residence” and says many of the details commissioned by Hearst remain intact.

Photographs show ornate window trimmings and stained glass, and woodwork throughout, especially in a decorative fireplace mantle and a wet bar located in a tower lounge area. The four-bedroom, four-bath residence is wrapped by terraces which provide unobstructed views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline.

Stainless steel appliances and cabinetry give the kitchen a modern feel in the historic setting.

Legere fancies himself as a bit of a chef, famously hosting #SlowCookerSunday for fans on Instagram and elsewhere.

The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this month that Legere had secured approval from the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission to expand the unit by incorporating the building’s roof as part of his home.

“The plan respectfully paid homage to the property’s rich history but truly maximized the home’s potential by optimizing the Central Park views and vistas and creating a layout for a modern lifestyle,” Legere said in the Journal.

Legere never went through with the updates, but the newspaper said architectural plans are in place if a future owner decides to pursue the changes.
