A furtive autonomous vehicle startup out of Bend, Ore. has raised $8 million from undisclosed investors. Azevtec confirmed the investment to GeekWire but provided few additional details because the company is operating in stealth mode.

What Azevtec could tell us is this: The startup is developing “autonomous, zero-emission vehicle systems” and “working to accelerate the adoption of sustainable transportation technology.”

Five people list Azevtec as their employer on LinkedIn. They appear to be dispersed across Bend, Denver, San Francisco, and Chicago.

Azevtec CEO Andrew Smith, identified in an SEC filing by the company, is listed on LinkedIn as the co-founder of ATDynamics. The LinkedIn description calls ATDynamics a “leading provider of semi-trailer vehicle aerodynamics technology for the freight transportation industry.” Smith previously worked for GE, according to LinkedIn.
