The new iPhones are here! Geared Up co-host Andru Edwards has been hands-on with the new devices for the past week and gives us his full review of the iPhone XS Max on the latest episode of the show.

Andru said the phone has clear advantages over the original iPhone X, including its incredibly fast processor, long battery life, huge screen and more advanced camera. The biggest negative? The price. Andru’s model, the gold iPhone XS Max with 512 gigabytes of storage, costs a whopping $1,449. The XS model has all the same features as the Max, but in a smaller device.

Andru was also handily impressed with the Apple Watch Series 4, which he said is the biggest improvement in the device line since it started. Among the positives are a much longer battery life and a bigger screen.

But Apple wasn’t the only one with new devices in the headlines this week. Oculus announced a new high-powered, tetherless VR headset called the Oculus Quest. It’s a more advanced version of a Geared Up favorite, the Oculus Go. The Quest could give Oculus a shot to bring virtual reality into the mainstream.

Plus, Andru gets on his rant soapbox — all over a potato, some popcorn and a disappointingly small microwave.
