GeekWire reporters travel all over the country covering some of the most prime tech events on the planet. But this week, we had the exciting role of hosting one of our own.

The GeekWire Summit is a three-day tech conference in Seattle, bringing together some of the leading minds in the technology and innovation economy. This week on the podcast we take you behind the scenes at the recent event, sharing anecdotes and observations about our keynoter, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, and much more.

We also reflect on a big announcement we made this week: GeekWire is seeking proposals for our very own (temporary) second headquarters.

We’re poking a bit of fun at Amazon and the tech giant’s search for a second home, but we’re also excited to highlight innovative tech communities that are thriving in places other than the West Coast of the U.S. Shocking, right?

On the Random Channel this week: Some truly geeky gadgets and a new summit tradition: The GeekChoir.

Be sure to check out Satya Nadella’s talk at the summit, which is available as a podcast. We’ll also be sharing more talks from the summit as podcasts in the coming weeks, including talks wtih Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson, Toni Reid, head of Amazon’s Alexa Experiences & Echo devices, and Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson.
